App Press LLC, doing business as Playlister ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the Watchtower device inventory and reachability dashboard ("Service") at watchtowerav.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization name.
Inventory Data
Watchtower stores the device inventory information you enter or import. This may include device names, manufacturer and model, asset identifiers, notes, saved IP addresses or web interface URLs, and Area names and hierarchy. These records describe your equipment and how your team organizes it.
Collector Observations
If you use the locally installed macOS collector, Watchtower receives device reachability observations and check timestamps from that collector. These observations describe whether a configured device answered a reachability check; they do not establish whether the device is working as intended.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, features used, timestamps, browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers. We use this information to understand use of the Service and address technical issues.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects and processes your payment information. We do not directly store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers.
Support Communications
When you contact us for support, we collect the content of your messages, your email address, and any attachments you provide.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Create and manage your account
- Store and display your device inventory, Areas, and saved links
- Receive and display reachability observations from a collector you use
- Process payments and send billing-related communications
- Respond to your support requests
- Send service-related notices and updates
- Understand usage trends and improve the Service
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
We share information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, and customer support. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your account information, inventory records, and reachability observations are stored on cloud infrastructure in the United States. The collector uses your local network to check the devices you configure and sends reachability observations to the Service.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information, inventory records, and reachability observations for as long as your account is active. Upon account cancellation or termination, we will delete your inventory records, reachability observations, and account information within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements.
Usage data may be retained in aggregated, anonymized form indefinitely.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of certain data processing activities.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@playlister.app. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
Removing the collector stops new reachability observations. It does not delete your account or existing cloud data. Account cancellation follows the retention process described above.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and collect usage data. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. Analytics cookies help us understand how users interact with the Service.
You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of the Service.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@playlister.app.
9. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
10. International Data Transfers
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service or by sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
